I am plus sized. Happy about it, I don't want to be stick thin, my hubby to be says I wouldn't look right.
I love my curves. I recently went online dress shopping, and fell in LOVE with a ball gown. But then I saw an article that said ball gowns were for skinny people. Am I going to look right in my ballgown??

I have small shoulders, and 38DD breasts. I have a nice waistline, and hold most of my weight in my hips, thighs, and lower belly, and of course my buns.

I hope you are proud of those DD's 'cause they are going to look GIGANTIC in a halter-style dress. I'm just about the same bra size as you and anytime I attempt to wear a halter, my chest looks 5 times bigger than it is -- and I don't need to make my bust look bigger.

As for the ballgown style, every dress is different and how you carry yourself in the dress makes it look good or bad -- depending upon how YOU feel in that dress. I saw on TV a plus-sized very curvy lady wanted a mermaid style dress (something my plus-sized self wouldn't dare) but she looked good in it because she was proud of her curves and not afraid to show 'em off.
