Myth has it that amethyst came into existence when Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and revelry, once was insulted by a mortal. He swore revenge on the next mortal he saw and produced vicious tigers to carry it out. The mortal he saw was a gorgeous youthful lady called Amethyst. Just when Dionysus was about to act, another goddess, Diana, made Amethyst into a a crystalline statuette. The moment that Dionysus saw the stunning statue, he wept tears of wine, leaving a purple stain on the statue and creating amethyst. Due to its colour, amethyst is often associated with royalty. Amethyst can be found within the crown jewels of olden Egypt, present day England as well as czarist Russia. Amethyst additionally is indicative of faithfulness and celibacy. Amethyst ornaments are seen in sacred and ceremonial items of Christianity and also Buddhism. These gemstones are accessible all over the globe, however, some of the top rated ones are found in the New World, including Uruguay, Brazil, Canada, the United States and Mexico. A fact that isn’t widely-known is that citrine, an attractive yellow-orange gem, is manufactured from heating amethyst. Some regard amethyst as having healing properties.
Bridal Jewellery UK -Selections for Headbands with Amethyst Crystals
Brides often wear embellished headbands in place of more formal tiaras. The bridesmaids can also wear headbands. One conventional headband style emphasises groupings of fashionable crystals and brilliant glass beads placed around a couple of filigree butterflies. Just wonderful for an outside wedding! There's also a wonderful cherry blossom design in a headband that has a wild and “now” look. The blossoms are made from tiny glass beads and luminous Swarovski crystals. Another one of the designs brings to mind an art deco sense which includes a row of crystals interposed gracefully with a couple of beautiful starbursts, a large one and a small one. For the classically minded bride, there's a demure silver plated headband with sporadic freshwater pearls and crystals. To achieve a glamorous style, a good option is a sparkling diamante headband which has Austrian crystals sewn by hand on an ivory coloured grosgrain ribbon. Depending on the style of the wedding, one can wear this as a classic Alice band or down low on the forehead to effect a more overstated look. When mixed with brilliant amethyst crystals, any of these headband styles can add just the right compliment to a royal, purple-themed marriage ceremony colour scheme.
Bridal Jewellery UK -Affluent in history, wisdom and ambiguity, the amethyst holds an honoured place in the prominent ensemble of stones.

Flowers Flowers Flowers!!! Your opinion!?
Ok im wearing an off white gown, my bridesmaid is wearing a black knee length dress, my flower girl is wearing the same colour as me. What colour flowers would suit? Our wedding is a small intimate wedding, only 45-50 guests, i want a sophisticated warm loving theme. What flowers would be best do you think? Would it look ok for us all to hold white flowers? Im not sure i want that though, im ok with me holding white but what would my girls hold?
Sorry should have added, the wedding is in September (not this year) so the season is Spring here in Australia.
I think the all white would be very pretty. White and green (leafy vegetation) would be nice. You really have an open palette for any color you like; pinks, blues, purples and even yellows. It all really depends on you and your tastes.

What is the appropriate dress length for a 2nd marriage wedding dress?
I am 50 years old and slim built and am marrying the man of my dreams. My second wedding and his third. We are not a flamboyant couple. Our tastes would be probably be described as simple and sophisticated. I have purchased a beautiful, simple, ivory, full length gown with a small train. The plan was to cut and hem to tea length. Friends say the dress is to beautiful to hem. What is an appropriate length for a second time bride? We are getting married on a cruise ship at 1:30 in the afternoon with 20 guests.
any length you want......
