Wedding Gown Medieval
Has anyone ever had a medieval or renaissance wedding? What was it like?
I'm only a teen and I have no intention of getting married anytime within the next decade, but I'm just curious. I love those time periods, especially the gowns!
I'm a wedding photographer and I have been to one. It was the most awesome wedding I've ever been to. The bride had decided in early childhood that her wedding would have a Renaissance theme. She actually told her fiance (now husband) about her vision for her wedding on their first date and he thought it was awesome. She said she knew then that he was "the one" Anyways, she dressed in a time period dress, had the groom and attendants in time appropriate costume, and all of the men had real swords. The couple also paid for them to take several weeks of swordplay lessons. Their reception had time period foods (turkey legs and such) and one of their very talented friends carved two huge, wooden, elaborately decorated thrones for them. It was amazing.
