Ideas For Wedding Flower Arrangements
Flower arrangements for the wedding are one of the more difficult aspects of the event that the pide and groom need to decide on. There are actually several flower arrangements for a wedding that are major. These are the bouquet, the church arrangement and the reception arrangement. Wedding cake flowers can also be similar to the flowers used in the other arrangements in the wedding. Many pides and grooms actually ask the florist to move the flower arrangements from the church to the reception to help reduce the cost of the flower arrangements for the wedding. This may take some time but can be done while the pide and groom are taking pictures in the church with friends and relatives.
Flowers
The kinds of flowers to be used in flower arrangements for the wedding are actually dependent on the wishes of the pide and groom. In most cases, the groom leaves decisions like these to the pide. The florist may show the pide some examples of flowers used in flower arrangements for a wedding and she can choose from these which looks good to her.
Lilies are actually a very good choice for flower arrangements for weddings. Most lilies are big and look very fragile and attractive in both shape and color. Calla lilies and some other kinds of lilies can actually be tinted to a similar shade of the wedding motif. Calla lilies can be tied together with a ribbon and made into the wedding bouquet for the pide. Lilies of the valley in the wedding bouquet can also be designed in a cascade design which can accentuate the wedding gown. The cascade design using lilies of the valley and other similar lilies can also be used for the other flower arrangements for the wedding.
Roses are an old favorite when it comes to flower arrangements for a wedding. These flowers come in a variety of colors that are sure to suit many pides and grooms as well as different species that can be combined with each other to make a beautiful flower arrangement. Using roses in flower arrangements for a wedding not only supply a beautiful splash of color and texture but also a heady scent for the entourage and guests. Roses can complement other flowers to be used in the flower arrangements for the wedding and can also stand well on their own.
“Deciding on the flower arrangements for a wedding will take time and should not be rushed unless time is of the essence. It is best to powse around in pidal magazines and the like to check out wedding ideas in flower arrangements that may catch the eye.” said a dealer of Wellington flowers, wedding supplies, and handmade jewellery who’s also trying hands on car rental for the booming industry in wedding ceremonies.

what would be the typical wedding cost in the philippines?
ung di maxadong bongga! ok? simple pero sulit! tnx! =)
pls include the estimated cost of each; reception, foods, invitation, church, gowns for the entourage, etc..
or khit the whole expenses of the wed.
thank you po!
my friend is getting married soon so i guess what i can give you is the estimates based on their choices and decisions, just the same i guess this is your "not so bongga but simple and nice" peg na din.
church - 10K, but this is a simple church in Mindanao Ave. not so grand though, they also inquired from churches in Manila to have that "heritage" feel, however it's pretty expensive (costs can go up to 100K) plus there are various rules and reservation should be made atleast a year.
reception - a simple chinese restaurant in QC, again, this is not so bongga considering that this is not a hotel. it costs them 40K for 100 guests na! but basic lang ang amenities plus don't expect anything grand such as you'll expect from a Hotel. If you are nagtitipid and still want it in a "hotel" you can check out Great Eastern Hotel, sa totoo lang di naman talaga yun hotel kasi diba Aberdeen Court lang yon (hehe) but at least in the invitation parang hotel na din
invitation - i suggest you find a relative or a friend who has a computer shop, this is the same thing they did para makamura. they just paid for the ink, bought papers, and paid a small amount for the electricity and some nice finishing touches such as ribbons and envelopes. but if you will opt to have it done by the "experts," i mean those that can be found in the malls, well, expect to pay 30-50 pesos per invitation.
gowns - i suggest you go to Divisoria. There are a lot of mananahis there that cost cheaper yet quality is not sacrificed. What is critical is your peg or your design! Para kung ano yung kokopyahin nya. My friend did this and was able to nego a package na. Gown is 7K and the entourage is 3500K per gown.
don't forget other essentials such as:
wedding rings - binondo manila has lots, plus other not so expensive shops such as Hans Bruman in Makati (10-20K); or if you want to splurge then go for Tiffany's at Rustan's (can go high as 100K).
car - naku, manghiram ka na lang! if wala talaga, try the "rent a car" service arund 7K-15K
flowers - the best pa din ang tindahan ng flowers near UST manila, i just forgot the name lang nung street but ask and i'm sure they'll know. Flowers are way way cheaper so mas madami ka pa mabibili for you, entourage, car, reception, etc.
video/photo - here you may want to invest some kasi ito ang pang lifetime memories mo e! check out sa mga sites and make an effort to check out other projects they've done in the past para you can use it as basis to use for your own wedding.
choir - inquire sa mga schools, each school naman ata meron or sa mga churches near your place, this is again way cheaper. ikaw na lang mamili ng kakantahin nila! sa instruments naman usually nagkakatalo e, have a violin para romantic ang feel and sosyal.
hope this helps!

What does a cord sponsor in a wedding wear?
My husband & I will be the cord sponsors for our niece's wedding. In the Philippines, secondary sponsors (cord, veil, candle) wear gowns like the bridesmaids and maid of honor, like a part of the wedding entourage. Now I don't know if it's the same here in the US as it's my first time to do it here. What should I wear? I really need help, wedding is already this Saturday.
A cord sponsor is the one that puts the cord around the couple that's getting married. In a traditional Filipino wedding, there's a veil sponsor, a candle sponsor and a cord sponsor. They also march down the aisle like the bridesmaids, groomsmaids, etc.
I'm sorry I meant groomsmen not groomsmaids haha!
I would ask the bride to be if she has any particular dress she would like you to wear. I would assume that since the wedding is this Saturday (and it's Friday morning) that she really doesn't have much of a preference, because if she did, she would've told you LONG before now. So, I would wear something nice and conservative. If it's an evening wedding, your husband should wear a suit and tie, and you should wear a nice dress.
edit: I'm with the first person, I'm a bridal consultant, I sell wedding dresses and have never heard of a cord sponsor either.
